The Changlang Battalion of the Assam Rifles swiftly contained a jungle fire that broke out near Vivekananda Vidyalaya in Changlang district on 14 February 2026.

According to reports, troops were immediately dispatched to the site upon receiving information about the blaze. Acting promptly, personnel implemented established fire-control drills to prevent the flames from spreading toward the school premises.

As part of precautionary measures, a secure outer cordon was established around the affected area to ensure the safety of students and staff and to regulate movement. Through coordinated and well-rehearsed action, the fire was successfully extinguished before it could cause damage to the school.

The timely intervention underscores the Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to community safety and rapid disaster response in Arunachal Pradesh.
