The Catholic Church in Manipur continues to remain united in faith and mission, with clergy, religious, and faithful serving communities while strengthening efforts toward peace, healing, and reconciliation amid the prevailing tensions in the State.
Church leaders have reaffirmed that, despite social and community tensions affecting certain areas, ecclesial communion remains strong, with parishes continuing worship, pastoral ministry, and charitable outreach across communities.
The Church, while exercising pastoral prudence in sensitive situations, continues its mission of service and accompaniment. The Imphal Archdiocese has consistently called for peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding.
In a renewed appeal for reconciliation and harmony, the Archdiocese of Imphal has called for an “All Manipur Rosary Prayer Day” to be observed on May 31, 2026, in all parishes across the Archdiocese, invoking prayers for peace and healing in the State.
In a pastoral message dated May 22, Archbishop Dr. Linus Neli invited the faithful to gather as “one family of faith” to pray for “peace, healing, and harmony in our land” during the Marian month dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
“Let us remember that no wound is beyond God’s healing grace and no darkness beyond His light,” the Archbishop said in his message, urging the faithful to seek the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace, for reconciliation and lasting peace in Manipur.
Parishes have also been encouraged to gather their communities for the Rosary under the pastoral leadership of parish priests as a visible expression of unity, prayer, and solidarity.
Church leaders continue to emphasise that the mission of the Church in Manipur is one of accompaniment, reconciliation, and hope, especially amid ongoing social challenges and uncertainty. In these difficult times, the Church remains committed to prayerfully walking alongside the pople of Manipur fostering dialogue, healing, and mutual understanding among communities.
As Manipur journeys through a period of pain and division, Church renews its call for peace, harmony, and solidarity, urging all people to work together in rebuilding trust and safeguarding the shared dignity of every community.
