Guwahati, February 21, 2026: JD Academy of Excellence (JDAX), Chennai, an initiative of the Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore, has announced admissions for the 2026–27 Civil Services preparation programme, offering full scholarship opportunities for selected aspirants.
The academy aims to provide structured and institutional support for Christian youth aspiring to join India’s Civil Services, particularly the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other central services. Registrations are now open, with scholarship interviews scheduled to begin in April 2026.
Institutional Support for Civil Services Aspirants
JDAX was established to address the limited institutional presence of Christian communities in civil services preparation. Unlike several other minority communities that operate well-organised coaching and scholarship networks, many Christian aspirants have historically navigated the competitive examination process without coordinated support.
The academy offers a comprehensive preparation model that includes classroom coaching, mentorship, residential facilities, and academic monitoring. The programme is conducted in English and is open to aspirants from across India, including the Northeast.
Rev. Dr. A. L. Anthony Sebastian, Coordinator of the Education Apostolate of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI), noted that JDAX seeks to identify talented youth and provide them with the academic ecosystem required to compete at the national level.
Scholarship Model
JDAX has introduced a dual scholarship system:
• 100% fee waiver for the top 20 selected aspirants based on merit.
• Performance-based full refund of fees along with free Mains coaching for candidates who clear the UPSC Preliminary Examination.
The initiative aims to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent capable candidates from pursuing civil services.
National-Level Preparation
Located at Santhome, Chennai, JDAX provides access to experienced faculty in subjects such as Economics, History, CSAT, and General Studies. The academy also offers secure residential accommodation and an environment conducive to focused preparation.
For youth from Northeast India—where increasing numbers of candidates are aspiring for administrative services—the programme offers a structured pathway and national-level exposure.
